Four states achieved important business legislation milestones during the month of June. Please see below for a summary of the new laws for entities in Alabama, Hawaii, Kentucky and New Jersey.

ALABAMA

House Bill 582
Entities Affected:
Various
House Bill 582, effective June 10, 2019, authorizes a municipality to create an electronic process for the processing and recordation of business license renewals.  View the bill text.

HAWAII

House Bill 944
Entities Affected:
Non-Profit Corporations
Hawaii House Bill 944, effective June 7, 2019, amends the Nonprofit Corporations Act concerning the purchase of memberships, consents, and officers’ duties.  View the bill text.

KENTUCKY

House Bill 453
Entities Affected:
Non-Profit Corporations and LLCs
Kentucky House Bill 453, effective June 26, 2019, amends the nonprofit laws to allow for mergers between domestic nonprofit corporations and domestic nonprofit LLCs.  View the bill text.

NEW JERSEY

Assembly Bill 5607
Entities Affected: Various
New Jersey Assembly Bill 5607, effective June 30, 2019, amends the entity laws regarding Annual Report fee increases and reinstatements. View the bill text.
